My Camera Case Boredom Buster

So here's what I did on Friday night. I was bored, looking for something to do, when I noticed my poor new camera sitting there uncovered. I knew if I wanted to keep it in my purse, it would need protection, so I started to come up with a plan (purses are not safe for delicate gadgets). I decided that crocheting a case would take too long, so I got out some Amy Butler fabric scraps and some batting, and went to work. It didn't take long at all, which is great, so now my camera is safe. I still need to add a closure, but I haven't decided what to use yet.
Basically, it is a strip of rectangular fabric (outer fabric, batting, inner fabric) that has been quilted, then sewn together. After quilting, I edged one short end of the fabric sandwich first with a 1.5inch strip of outer fabric, then folded it and sewed up the sides. I then eyeballed the curve on one side of the case top, then folded it in half to cut the other side to match. Using another 1.5inch piece of outer fabric, cut on the bias, I edged the outside to finish. What a great, quick boredom buster! And I still had time to watch Moonlight...
